2008 Australia National Winner

Task Retail Technology Pty Ltd

"Selecting a winner from our exceptional group of finalists was no easy task. And this year's winner's use of technology is unique and innovative and winning customers ahead of many big players in their industry," said Kevin O'Kane, general manager for Dell's small and medium business in Australia.

Task Retail Technology Pty Ltd, based in Mona Vale, Sydney, is a supplier of electronic Point of Sale solutions to the retail market. Their flagship product is award winning XCHANGEXEC® software suite, a flexible, web centric POS solution designed for large franchise groups, retail chains, hospitality groups, stadiums and arenas. Task Retail Technology's customer base includes the likes of Brumbys, Donut King, Michel's Patisseries, Muffin Break, the Sydney Turf Club - to name a few.

An impressive - and growing - customer list from a company with a staff of thirteen.

The future is extremely bright for this company. However what also impressed the judges was their ability to reinvent an existing - and proven - business model, through the advent of new technologies. By breaking new ground, this has afforded them - and their customers - greater efficiencies, better access to information and ultimately competitive advantage in an extremely competitive market.

To quote one customer reference: "The innovative and complete use of the latest .Net development architecture was something I had never seen in this industry before and Task Retail is to be commended for bolting it together in such a professional manner. Bringing together technology partners, the calibre of Cisco, NCR, Microsoft and Pacific Internet can only benefit us as customers and our end users".
